For full transparency: I always upload my videos one week before I publish them so YouTube can check for any issues. This was one of my Muay Thai docs in which I had a 2sec clip of a Thai cock fight.. Apparently since it’s against their community guidelines they simply removed it. Gladly I didn’t publish it and was able to reedit the video and publish one which is online now. But man.. this shit feds me up. Might need to invest more time in helping building a #nostr client for creators. Who should I talk to? Anyone wants to join forces?
Putas plataformas centralizadas. Necesitamos un cliente como YouTube en nostr
It already exists, it is called Creatr. https://creatr.nostr.wine cc @Mazin
Lets talk @Mazin
Thanks @isolabell.art 🎨 I’ll send you a DM and we can chat further! @Creatr is far from perfect and is certainly not a YouTube replacement but it’s a MVP we’ve built to showcase paywalled content on nostr through a relay (wss://creatr.nostr.wine) that works(ish) out of the box on most popular clients. The website is basically just a micro client example for subscribers/fans/viewers and a place for Creators to manage their files/posts.
NoStrudel is the perfect client for creators. it gives you access to the "other stuff" such as streams, videos, blogs, communities, badges, emotes. It's literally a business in a box for creators.
I run nostrudel on Start9 on the clearnet and I didn't know all this stuff. I need to mess around with it.
Do it! I think it's the best desktop client and most creators work on a desktop or laptop.
Well, that sucks but it's not as bad as I first thought it was. But good thing it gets you to help build alternatives :D
You can do this as a video podcast. It's already supported in podcast clients like podverse. Check out what nostr:nprofile1qqsr5qnsn6medetj3vexljqqvy99gfdrgsp7hs9f52kdvrryz6gwkrsppemhxue69uhkummn9ekx7mp0qk8hxm is doing with music videos and concerts and you'll get the idea.
Video podcasting isn’t anything new. I remember downloading video versions of TWiT to my 5th gen iPod Classic when it was new in 2006. Also most podcasts don’t need to be video but that’s a different discussion. Blubrry.com offers video hosting solutions for anyone interested.
@MaxDeMarco tools do exist right, i have several full length concerts and some music videos posted. I also maintain the video feed for the production podcast we publish. Still have yet to publish a single thing to YouTube, and the only community guidelines strikes I get are on other people’s shows when I’ve guested. Build an rss feed and attach a Lightning wallet, you’ll be cooking.
Blossom fixes this.
The perfect YouTube-killing app would be pretty simple to make in my opinion. I've posted a description before, here nostr:note1q8tq5yjhgsam2vy7f5w0xskkuv9sz6kgf8a4s9ntz3walthdpa0skdht89
I'm interested in hearing about how to make a decentralised YouTube alternative....
