I think it's so good but it needs waking up it cause not working in background if it is not launch..

 I was thinking on base it on the notifications you have enabled on Pokey 

 Pokey can broadcast to all apps and Citrine can listen in.  

 I was thinking as a second option, but its true its simpler to go straight forward with the broadcasting
