He basically rounded up a list of suspects and then forced himself to pick one - even after acknowledging early on that Satoshi could just be some anonymous cypherpunk with no trail to a real identity at all - necessarily excluding them from any possible list of suspects. The 'evidence' he found was just an exercise in anomaly hunting - resulting in confirmation bias.
