There are different proposals (NIPS) for DM functionality, and each client may, or may not, be implementing none, one, some, or all. But don't quote me on that. 😉

I downloaded it and will mess with it. personally I’m trying to consolidate apps. but I get it! when you try to have one app do it all; there are trade offs vs a dedicated app
You can browse your Nostr feed in @0xchat and it also has a built in ecash wallet. People are sleeping on it.
