thinking about how knights of the old republic rewards xp on completion of successful skill checks as an alternative to combat xp or milestone xp. might be a little too "press button get treats" tho 

 @608fe933 Not quite as bad as skill increasing with every use in the Elder Scrolls series, which had people jumping continuously around the landscape to up their athletics skill.
