Plenty here are discriminated against & whatever she claims, her speech will trigger some into thinking others (foreigners) treated no worse than them can get asylum here & jump the queue for rights and benefits. Being a discriminated against woman has never on its own been grounds for refugee status otherwise all women would likely qualify. Imo she's triggering a fight against a non-existant problem & stoking resentment.
@5f724f2f It's a typical dog-whistle to the far right from #Braverman to cement herself as the preferred far right candidate post #Sunak. She's saying what many in her party are thinking, but won't repeat because it will out them as the intolerant racists they are. With the #Asian #Braverman & #Patel repeating these tropes, the #Tories can point to both claiming "Look! We can't be racist. It's 2 Asians who are saying it." Neither women's families would be in the #UK under their proposals!
