Awesome! Adventurous beginner is a fun place to be. I sewed throughout my childhood and picked it up again in the early lockdown days when my best friend announced she was expecting. 🥰 The True Bias Ogden Cami is probably my favorite quick, easy, wearable pattern, and may be worth a shot if it's your style.

I've done quited makeup pouches and oven mitts, but I would also love to someday sew a full quilt! Yes, I hope we see more drafters, too! My hubby got me into into Bitcoin, Linux, firearms, etc. which I've come to appreciate... but I much prefer crafts, gardening, cooking, and girlier side of self-sovereignty. 😂

It might be faster to list what I’m not interested in 😅 But top interests are Christianity, nature (as a very broad term incl. the sciences, foraging, cooking, herbal medicine, and permaculture), anthropology/folklore, fiction and writing (especially hard sci-fi), music and composition, art (I do pottery and crochet), and my family (husband @boatingaccident and our baby, and stuff surrounding pregnancy/breastfeeding and homeschooling that supports future plans)

Haha as I type this I’m on the way to a meeting of a grassroots food freedom group, making me realize I didn’t even mention another big complex of interests, libertarianism/anarchy/building parallel systems

Thanks for sharing! So much great stuff and a lot of overlap here. My hubby and I are planning to start a family soon, so I'm looking forward to reading anything you share along your journey! I'm very much into nature, as well, in all it's dimensions and applications. I actually had chronic illness for almost 10 years, and herbal supplements were a huge part of my recovery. Do you favorite sci-fi writers? I'm a huge fan of Ray Bradbury and Ted Chiang, and pick up the annual best sci-fi short story compilations each year, though perhaps not quite hard sci-fi. It's amazing that you do music composition! I have no rhythm and music is a skill I'm ever in awe of.

It’s almost like a craft fair where you just set up a booth and people come to you. I started out just posting pictures and adding #artstr to the description so my pictures would be easier to find. Now I’ve got a small gig going here selling roll-up holders for pens, pencils, watches, etc. I sew them to order in different fabrics in exchange for sats. I didn’t see anyone else doing it so I just made a space for myself and made up some hashtags to advertise it. Feel free to ask me any questions and I’m happy to answer them!
