The best thing about my project team is that there's usually someone around to talk to and they're alert. I don't post an idea and then wait 2 days to get a response.

The world belongs to the people who show up for it.
People think it's okay to ghost FOSS project teams, because "I don't get paid for this", but a team is a living structure containing the active members.
If you just disappear or don't even check your notifications for days or weeks, you're no longer on the project, by definition. You've excommunicated yourself.

Goodbye, person formerly known as a project member. 👋🏼
No, I don't care what your sob story is. If it were a job or a hot date, you would have called and explained your absence. You just don't really care.
You also get a quick response because your team has people from all over the world, so there is always someone awake. :)
