I’m just going to throw this out there, I wouldn’t be surprised if they slap the Telegram CEO partially for CSAM related issues on Telegram.
France has a new law that went into effect in 2024, Child’s Image Rights Law and France is part of the EU. The EU has a plethora of online child safety pieces of legislation.
There have been articles written recently about CSE on Telegram. That’s always a precursor.
Orgs have made them a focus in 2024.
If CSAM is a reason, I’ll speak on my perspective later. It’s a traumatic, dark and complex topic but I believe that there are many solutions available that don’t violate privacy rights or erode encryption.
Survivors deserve digital privacy rights as well. Survivors deserve strong encryption. As a society we can have these difficult conversations with care. 💜
CSAM? CSE? I had to look those up. Why are they changing the terminology? Are queer theory Marxists trying to normalize the behavior by givining it more paletable terminology? Queer theory Marxism is all for normalizing pedos. The whole MAPS terminology for example.
Nah. The legal terminology doesn’t adequately portray the crime so they are working towards a more accurate set of phrases that explains the crime. I just used the acronyms. It’s basically the opposite of what you said.
