 AAA video games are having a lot of trouble these days. Independent game studios are making better games with less money. IMHO the proliferation of game making tools and knowledge enables decentralization of game development. People no longer wait for big studios to release their next favorite game; they just go find a favorite game and community among the millions of options out there now.

This same perspective can be applied to social media clients and other applications.

The future is local.

Sony spent 8 years working on Concord and they have officially shut the game down 2 weeks after launch 😂
