Outside of this he's made it clear that his preference is for Monero, and even Zcash, unfortunately. "it’s not enough for a few to know best privacy practices" is a dig at the state of Bitcoin privacy. Because then only a fraction of users will ever use it privately. And even calling coinjoins "private" is dubious because nothing is hidden. It is weaker obfuscation. Amounts and transaction graph are still completely visible. Like you said: "Privacy must be the default." Bitcoin is definitely not that and can never be without hardforking. And we both know that is never happening.
