Bluesky only works with Bluesky's own code.

Thanks for reading my paper.

bluesky's code is awful, also, and it uses CBOR which is why i was hostile to the idea of nostr binary wire encoding using it, idgaf RFC, shitheads are using it and i had to deal with the awful, excessively complex data structure they used... (to be honest i don't really want to see nostr move to a binary codec unless it's fully bespoke designed just for nostr because of all the shitty metadata crap that we don't need)
Yep, CBOR is the greatest thing ever until you look at it closely and go... Wtf.
 finally someone said it

 > Some filters are always applied regardless of user preferences.
 > One user can block another, which prevents all future interactions
 > A user who makes a post can restrict who is allowed to reply to it
 > Private communications (direct messages) are currently handled by a centralized service
 > most of Bluesky’s indexing infrastructure is operated by Bluesky Social PBC
 > Relay performs some initial data cleaning (discarding malformed updates, filtering out illegal content and high-volume spam
 > A DID of this form can be resolved to the corresponding DID document by querying a server at https://plc.directory/, which is currently operated by Bluesky Social PBC
 > Bluesky PDSes therefore hold these signing keys custodially on behalf of users

Makes sense to a certain extent, for obviously illegal content

"Illegal"

🤣🤣🤣. You all really do need me then.

FINE … where is the meetup & I’ll schedule & do it 🫂🫂🫂
I’m working with academics to co-author a paper on Nostr.
We’ve submitted a proposal to an international society to organize a conference on decentralized social networks, with Nostr as the main topic. Fortunately, the proposal has been approved, and we’re now working out the details. I’m actively trying to align the conference dates and location with next year’s Nostr events. The goal is to introduce Nostr to academics and promote further research. Hope everything goes well.
this is very interesting I'd love to know more about it! Also keen on doing academic work related to Nostr.
