It’s just another tool, perhaps not quite as lethal as your car

Respect and familiarity go very far in gun safety

Guns are the great equalizer among humans 

 I don't have a car license.
I'm not saying whether guns matter or not, I'm saying that I'm a phobic. 

 Familiarity will reduce your phobia. 

It’s just a inanimate object that happens to work great in defending your life 

 What about wrenches, hammers, saws, and screwdrivers? All can be lethal tools, not to mention fertilizer, acetone, bleach, swimming pool acid, and drain cleaner. Most tools and technologies are dual use. Better to master use of the tools but be wary of the tool users. The same can be said for certain beautiful flowers 🙂
