At what price will Bitcoin change the world?
It is not about the price, it is about adoption and active usage (let it be on-chain or off-chain transactions).
arguably, bitcoin has already changed the world

it's a bit like this "year of the linux desktop" meme, all the while linux is everywhere except for mainstream consumer desktops

people keep being hyper-focused on bitcoin adoption for normal (US, Europe) consumers, while it seems to creep up everywhere else
without consumer adoption it will be captured
No. The american consumer is not going to be node runners, or the last line of defense hashers. You'll think it's captured because they will be using cucked bank/ETF Bitcoin but the actual network will be very strong.
i agree but that is putting it very black and white, either everyone uses it or no one
i mean it's already used by consumers for sure...
it's just hard to get insight into it
and US/Europe isn't everything

seems obvious that BTC will get adopted last where the fiat currency has the most faith invested into it. You don’t replace a reserve currency overnight
i don’t see it being used anywhere for anything
VPS merchant accepting Bitcoin here 👀

Watch your mouth
out of curiosity, if you don’t mind, what percentage of your sales is BTC vs fiat
I think it is appropriate to account only for total volume.

Percentage of BTC volume (on- and off-chain): 65.78% (of BTC and fiat total volume). Other cryptocurrencies are not included in this statistics. The statistics is for entire business lifetime.
probably good for you, that you're not in the kind of situation where you need it
 saving = using
It's not used in Asia for anything except investment.
But but… I am getting a Linux computer this year… it is the year of the Linux :(
haha i've pretty much only used linux desktops since 1998
Never got to make the leap tried it once or twice. The developments with the games and so on, on proton and the push of Microsoft with the supervision of what you do will really make a lot of people push to Linux.
for me it was kind of cold turkey haha
i couldn't actually run anything else on my computer at the time anymore, which was some shitty 486
started with slackware 3.4 or so
and just got used to it, it's a lot of pain but other OSes tend to be even worse 🙂
I always had the windows alternative and with frustration I just reverted back to Windows…
‘Linux is everywhere, except on your desktop’. Great analogy. I’m gunning for the flippening of the financial infrastructure. Desktop can come later.
i always assume Linux will eventually, automatically win when Apple and MS abandon the concept of desktop computers as unprofitable (because all the kids only use phones and tablets anyway) 😥
Linux is also closed source having kicked out all the Russian devs💀
FOSS status is purely based on the license, it's still GPL and that means you can do whatever you want with the source
the upstream project might not take your patches, for whatever reason, but if it's quality code otherwise that's their loss
No it's not, they can fork
you didnt say for better or worse. i think its changed it for the worse overall already. more inequality will result.
 Lol
That’s a very odd take. Bitcoin is a paradigm shift in how we value our time and energy. It benefits everyone, it promotes balanced decision making not runaway greed. It truly is ‘The Great Reset’ instead of a globalist Tyranny to control via debt surveillance slavery. Stop focusing on NGU and look at the fundamentals of what it offers to all. Preservation of savings however small, ability to trade p2p freely anywhere globally with just a phone. No bank account needed, no controlling middle man.
Bitcoin changes people, in my case it reminded me of who I used to be and gave me a tool to make that true. It gave me the temple to pursue a goal I forgot.

If bitcoin changes people, and I know I’m not the only one.
It has already changed the world.
It's not about the price. It's about the idea.

It has changed already all of our worlds.

It is slowly changing the worlds of many normies as well.
 It already has.
 Like $10
I have two answers to this. The first answer is that it already has changed the world because now people see that digital property can exist and that you can send money around the world at the speed of light in seconds and it settles quickly and is irreversible.

My other answer is never because it does not have good privacy and good privacy is absolutely a requirement for money.
