Genuinely depends on the function of the VPS. I have some servers in Iceland via 1984 that I keep at the default and then I have a couple that I change to my own local time zone because I consider it to be my personal cloud so it has stuff like my calendars and other stuff that I kind of want to be in my own time zone. Also, some other servers that I use for clients, I have them on specific time zones because it's the time zone of the client, generally just depends the use of the server.
What VPS provider would you recommend? I need to set up one and I'm starting to do some research. I have a very small budget
depends on what your priorities are. ease of use, probably digital ocean. variety and different funding sources, probably vultr stability, decent documentation, linode. privacy, 1984.is OpenBSD specific, Openbsd.amsterdam plan9, and fringe stuff, sdf.org.
