Money and politics go together hand and hand. Elon is the richest man in the world, easy connection

 When your businesses are located in a country, you want to influence politics in that country because it influences how your business does.

I own a business, but live outside of the city and that means I can't have an effect on the policies that effect my business.  It is not good.
