I don't know where to start.
"Officiant fires gun to welcome bride, shoots grandson — and wedding goes on"
Gardner has been charged with felony child abuse for negligently firing a firearm and causing an injury. Gardner — an elected Republican official who has served as a commissioner in Ector County, Tex., since 2021 — said he turned himself in on Monday and was released on $10,000 bond.

Quite aside from everything about this being incredibly stupid and ill advised - how does that negligent discharge even happen?
The Pietta 1860 is a single-action, cap-and-ball, black powder revolver.
How do you "make a blank" for a muzzle loader? Wouldn't you just need to pour some powder and pack in a wad of cotton or something to stop it spilling?
How does a single action revolver with one loaded chamber "go off accidentally"? Was he carrying the damn thing cocked?

Midland-Odessa area. I'm not sure anyone there is really sane, after all the years of oil drilling there.
