Whoever says tariffs is a bad idea. Ok sooo tell me how you love and are willing to continue to make CHINA rich
Yes it's a great idea that while we make nothing at home, we charge tariffs for everything we import. Which is paid by US businesses. Would make sense if we actually produce stuff here but we don't anymore.
 Fuck em both btw.
We don't manufacturer goods here and the cost gets pushed to the consumer that has an ever devaluing purchasing power which will lead to higher costs and less good/services per USD.

I'm sure there's a happy median solution in there. I don't know what it is though
No we need to bring back manufacturing job here. Not china. This is the point we need to make America great again by making stuff here not china
 Its complicated :)

I have been to a few factories that boast Made in "this country". It's nonsense when you start looking into the source of the inventory of components. "Assembled here" is more realistic.

Even when components are made locally, there is chicanery. A bulb manufacturer got an order from a local aircraft co. It cost the manufacturer 60c to make, but they never realised their bulb was aeronautic quality. Sold it for $60.
Agreed but it's not going to happen because the cost of regulations, taxes, wages, reapproprating back to stateside USD holding (I may be off on that wording or explanation. If so I apologize and can explain more) etc. the State has made doing business in the US unfavorable and with the purchasing power continuously falling it's going to be even more difficult to bring it back. The government has screwed us a whole with foreign, domestic and monetary policy. The empire is closed contracting in on itself before collapse
