 @Final:z:Badguy:shrussia: rotational velocidensity will get you in 5 years
 @John Paul Grips now say it in plain english
 @Final:z:Badguy:shrussia: There seems to be a lot of misconceptions in the music community regarding the differences between 320kbps mp3 and FLAC format. It is true that 320kbps is technically as good as FLAC, but there are other reasons to get music in a lossless format.

Hearing the difference now isn’t the reason to encode to FLAC. FLAC uses lossless compression, while MP3 is ‘lossy’. What this means is that for each year the MP3 sits on your hard drive, it will lose roughly 12kbps, assuming you have SATA – it’s about 15kbps on IDE, but only 7kbps on SCSI, due to rotational velocidensity. You don’t want to know how much worse it is on CD-ROM or other optical media.

I started collecting MP3s in about 2001, and if I try to play any of the tracks I downloaded back then, even the stuff I grabbed at 320kbps, they just sound like crap. The bass is terrible, the midrange…well don’t get me started. Some of those albums have degraded down to 32 or even 16kbps. FLAC rips from the same period still sound great, even if they weren’t stored correctly, in a cool, dry place. Seriously, stick to FLAC, you may not be able to hear the difference now, but in a year or two, you’ll be glad you did.
 @John Paul Grips i'm not reading all that i don't fucking want to waste precious disk space that could be occupied by ryuko pics on bloated audiofiles
 @Final:z:Badguy:shrussia: your loss :cirnoshrug:
 @John Paul Grips >your loss even doe i'm the one saving disk space and you're the one buying new harddrives more often that my friend who archives and records everything
 @992af7a0 so help me if I see your quriky emoji reaction again I'm going to track you down and forcefeed you dogshit. I'm tired of seeing evidence of your existecne.

this troll post lmaoo

@Final:z:Badguy:shrussia:
Essentially, codecs are improving all the time, a 320kbps mp3 from 2005 will sound much worse than a 320kbps mp3 from 2020 transcoded from the same flac file with the same settings because the codecs have improved significantly in that time.

.flac is to music storage as .iso is to non-music disk storage.
it's basically as good as having a physical copy of (thing)
 @850c0192 @John Paul Grips yeah well if you want me to give a shit about flac, maybe stop making a single audio file be 200-300 megabytes of sizes when the equivalent mp3 could be as low as 4.7 megabytes
