I'd been running one on Start9, but honestly, I got to the point I just couldn't deal with the Tor headache anymore. I love Start9, but I'm gonna have to wait for the 0.36 update or 0.40 before I try it again. I'd be open to running one, temporarily until then, on a laptop or VSP, but seems very difficult to set up. If anyone knows a fairly easy way, please advise... ¯\_ʘ‿ʘ_/¯

It costs {one cheap VPS} or a spare computer at home. Not unlike an Urbit planet. Interesting. I'd love to see Nostr pick up some traction, but I'd be equally pleased (if not more so) to see Urbit-based alternatives do well.
Nice think about Nostr is it is entirely permissionless. I've gotten really blackpilled on the Urbit naming/network system lately. It goes against my cypherpunk instincts. That said, I'm excited to hear about the plans to rip out Azimuth as a standalone protocol. Urbit without Azimuth (and without Ames) is closer to where we are headed with Pallas https://github.com/operating-function/pallas
