MLB Seoul Series shows promise of U.S.-Japan-South Korea cooperation

The baseball games played in Seoul between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres showcased the potential for deeper trilateral cooperation among the U.S., South Korea, and Japan. The games were used as a platform for public diplomacy. Sports diplomacy could be uniquely effective in bridging skeptical publics. Jinwan Park, a representative of South Korea, believes that the games demonstrated the promise of U.S.-Japan-South Korea cooperation. Park will be attending the U.S.-ROK-Japan Trilateral Global Leadership Youth Summit in July and is an incoming Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
