Emotion I believe is tangentially related to free will.  We have the ability to do or act on things even if they are illogical or not in our best interests because we can.  Logic might not be the best way to describe it but more like rationalizing things, emotion is an inverse action but not entirely irrational, but inverse perhaps a check.
