 Exactly. It could only be a benefit if you have influence and don’t want to be impersonated, but at that point you will have enough followers that nobody could effectively impersonate you

 NIP-05 is a great way to scare away new users I think. You have to go to some strange website you’ve never heard of and send them $10 to have a username.
