Nobody pays them, they are just people who like art, the planet is a speculator and they like to place their bets, they are welcome to do so in bitcoin, it is an open protocol, and the base layer will be expensive over time, it is inevitable, it is a case of use
I think exactly like you, but I’m against censorship or stopping people from interacting with bitcoin their way. Everyone can use bitcoin the way they want. If this means someone wants to save monkeys in the bitcoin ledger then feel free to do so
Now that you mention it, I do want to save monkeys in the Bitcoin ledger.
I’ve had a similar reaction and have been doing so for a while. I find it amusing.
