That is what I think. If Meta and/or Bluesky federate, people will become intrigued by the idea of running their own instances.

 @09e1d236 Agreed. And I think Threads and BlueSky may never truly federate, but just the fact they even talk about it means a million percent more people now know about it as an option.

I don't see them federating either. They understand the risk of introducing people to a world outside their platforms. 

We are the proles in this story. Happy to be away from it while everyone else is saying 2+2=5.
