An analysis of Bitcoin mining energy use and its ability to improve power grid robustness and efficiency around the world by Sabine Hossenfelder. It's not surprising to me that physicists can see the huge potential of a global and decentralized buyer of electricity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2RpWU05YxsU
She's contrarian and independent, makes total sense. Loved her video of the breakdown of academia. Sorry doctor Calle. https://youtu.be/LKiBlGDfRU8
PhD physics, and now I'm here!
Then again, she favors PoS. But it's a good start.
That is actually kinda incredible.
I've watched a few of her takes on different things and find some of them OK, but if it's a topic you know more about than she does it can get pretty frustrating, as she is happy to share her opinions on stuff when she's still only just barely scratched the surface and hasn't really understood the nuance or other surrounding issues.
good video but she lost me though at proof of stake near the end
