I'm going to post positive things about #ETH here to see how brutal you all are. I think nostr is superior to farcaster, but that seems to be where the momentum is going over there.
There are positive things about Eth? I can’t wait to hear this
I apppreciate the expressiveness of solidity and putting more complex programs onto the chain. I admit much of the degen stuff going on sucks, but there are some valuable projects.
Do you think Lightning and Liquid undercuts a lot of that value or those Eth projects will be fine in the long run?
I love lightning, and stuff like taproot assets can beat a bunch of the usefulness of some ETH projects. There are long tail things that are building that will survive for quite some time I think. I'm particularly in the DAO space which I don't see very much discussed in the context of bitcoin.
In the case of DAO, I was excited at first and was one of the people who invested in 'the dao' project.
But from seeing a few projects in action it seems like it all boils down to 'democratising the organisation' through different mechanisms for determining voting rights.
I personally don't think that is a good idea, I prefer anarchy to democracy.
I tend to agree. I think democratic pushes result in poor DAO experiences. I think the ability to form partnerships of n individuals enforced by a smart contracts has some yet seen benefits that are worth exploring. I belive the goal should be directing efforts in a way that isn't democratic but optimizes for actual coordination among the parties involved.
Trolling or because you believe in eth?
I straddle ETH and BTC (though leaning BTC these days). I work on smart contracts and haven't figured out how to make the move to working in bitcoin or nostr.
Good luck to you ser. Nearly every bitcoiner I know shitcoined off the rip. Me too. When you need to make the move, you will.
