What's the difference between lightning and a liquid?
Liquid has a separate blockchain that is governed by a group of people (federation). It has similar qualities to Bitcoin, but with faster blocks and additional features. It maintains the same price as Bitcoin unlike other blockchains. It is a side chain. Lightning is a contract within Bitcoin that is between any two people (nodes) about ownership of the Bitcoin in the contract. Payments affect the amount of Bitcoin that is owned in each contract that is used to travel.
