 What army(s) do you run?
None. I'm getting into it. Going to get a salamander army together.
 Nice!

Seeing models getting built, painted, and on the table is rewarding.

10th ed. is really streamlined, but still has a lot of depth. You can have fun at any skill level. And, the game has probably never been more accessible for new players.

Having solid people to play with is key, though.
That's really why I'm just now starting. I always wanted to play but never had anyone I know I to it and the LGS is hit and miss... Lot of socially awkward people ya know. But now I've got 3 close friends getting into it. Playing Tau, Tyranids and Necrons.
 That's awesome, man.

Playing with close friends is the only way to play. You'll be telling stories of games or dice rolls years later.
If you have any questions on building models, paints, etc., feel free to reach out. I'm no pro, but I've learned some tips/tricks and found some good resources over the years.

One thing that I'd recommend, that I've learned the hard way, is to use plastic cement instead of any kind of super glue for assembling models. Super glue breaks apart, but cement melts the plastic together and is much more robust. You can also use it for smoothing and filling gaps.

Check out Tamiya Extra Thin Cement; it's my go-to.

For painting anything, check out Vince Venturella's Hobby Painting series on YT. He has a video on how to paint almost anything.
Except resin models. Plastics cement doesn't work and you have to go super glue.
Nice! I had actually already gotten the tip to use plastic cement and exactly that brand too.
