#Bounty alert. 50,000 sats to the first person to solve my Unified Push notification problem. I have never been able to successfully receive a single Amethyst notification via Unified Push. Tried everything I can possibly think of for weeks - zero luck. Here's my setup:

#Amethyst 0.91.0 fdroid (latest)
#ntfy 1.16.0 (latest)
#Amber 2.0.3 (latest)
#GrapheneOS build 2024090400 (latest) on Pixel 8a
So, I can tell you that our push server doesn't have any token for your pubkey. It's as if Notifications were completely disabled in the phone because Amethyst is not even registering a new token.
For all apps listed above, all notification options are enabled in app settings. Nothing has ever been denied. Background usage is allowed for all.
Have you tried uninstalling Amethyst and logging into it with your nsec directly?

I wonder if there is a weird cache state happening.
That was it!!! Uninstalled Amethyst, ntfy, and Amber. Reinstalled Amethyst, signed in directly with nsec, reinstalled ntfy, selected unified push in Amethyst - notifications work!! So that leaves the question... is this an Amber bug??
Registering does require signing a NIP-98 auth message. There might have been something blocking that action to process with Amber :(

Sure, can you make the same test but this time logging with amber?
I'm at my work today, I'll just be able to test this tomorrow
It's too complicated to setup. I gave up.
My phone is de-googled so I don't get notifications for most apps. The Chinese apps always seem to get notifications.

I still get my notifications when I click on the bell inside amethyst. That's good enough.
There definitely seems to be a bug related Amber, but I don't find the setup itself that complicated. Amethyst gives a nice little prompt explaining the process on first launch. FWIW, working push notifications are essential if you're trying to daily drive Amethyst DMs as a Telegram alternative.
