The way the balance is calculated is per-month since the relay was created.  Due to bitcoin going on a massive run, monthly cost has been adjusted to 12,000 sats/month.  The balances have been dynamically adjusted retroactively to reflect this.  For many, the balance may seem like a lot, this means your relay has been running a long time and I have never previously billed you for it other than the initial invoice.

So, I'd also like to offer some relay credits to you as an early adopter.  Your homework is to attempt to use the new support system to give me some feedback.  https://support.nostr1.com

If you do this, it will help me see which relays are active and which are not and I appreciate this very much.  You can also ignore this and just top-up your balance.  In the coming month, I will be looking for relays that haven't topped up or given feedback and pausing those relays.

 Yeah, I know it seems weird, but nostr DMs are not private or secure, are buggy between clients, and are a scam vector so after much deliberation on this I decided kind 1 is best for now.  The support over kind 1 will only send generic notifications and never any invoices or mention your relay names.  Nor will it send any unsolicited DMs.  Until nostr clients can get their act together with DMs I will also provide private support contact via SimpleX if you prefer.
