 It’s easier to open channels than running your own mints on federations. If you want it supper private coinjoin your UTXO then do few swaps and then open channels. Buy none KYC domain name with sats so that you can self host BIP-353 LN address.

 I have no problems with channels on Phoenix at least but for normies that just want to use LN, custodial solutions will always be simpler. But yes luckily self custodial LN is closing the gap with bolt12, and this is the way it should be imo, self custodial closing the gap to centralized LN.
