 Saves time: no need to scan the blockchain for transactions if your wallet didn't exist before height/date X because there won't be any 👀

 its because monero is a shitcoin and searching for txs on blocks, even in a "light wallet", needs much time because need to decrypt like 1/4 of all the things in blocks to find output related to your wallet. If you remember your wallet has been generated last week, it will take only some minutes maybe.
