Bit of a long story - I’m really curious and a bit nosy about things sometimes. I barely used twitter before the transition. I saw that Mr Musk/Elon was taking over and I wanted to watch and see what the founders thought of it and what might change. Didn’t expect him to change the name - I still call it twitter.
None of them said anything - except jack/Mr Dorsey. He reposted Max DeMarco’s YouTube video and it looked like he was going to talk about the transition or how bad social media was, but it wasn’t a negative video at all but a solution. I thought it was fantastic. Now if I rewatch the video I recognise most people but when I first watched it I had no clue who anyone was, I just liked the way they explained nostr. I think two weeks later before work I signed up - took a while cos the sign up process was so long, I wanted to do it right. I expected to delete it after having a quick look, but I made friends, had fun, was inspired and I finally found somewhere where I could be almost fully myself. I haven’t found that in London - yet. I might not be looking hard enough though.
I had too many reasons to keep it.
I know this sounds silly, but it feels like an adventure of sorts. I hope I have other adventures in person one day, but for a first adventure it’s pretty decent. If I wasn’t nosy, I wouldn’t have a place to be myself, wouldn’t have sats and never would have met Mallory and island and walked with them in Kensington Gardens on a sunny morning. I really believe in fate. But I’m also really corny 🙏🏽🫂. I feel sad when I think there might be an alternate reality where I might not know Mallory, island and Jeroen exist.
Also I got orange pilled a little while after I was purple pilled. I used to think bitcoin was only for rich/posh people cos no one I know had it.
How did you find nostr? Was it through Bitcoin twitter? - I learnt about Bitcoin twitter from reading notes on nostr, funnily enough 😂
