 US FCC chair to seek reinstating net neutrality rules rescinded under Trump https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-telecom-chair-seek-reinstating-net-neutrality-rules-rescinded-under-trump-2023-09-26/

A bit of happy news is welcome.
 @edbba727 yayayayayay :)
 @edbba727, it feels so rare, but nice to see a CW like that. So often uspol seems synonymous with complete and utter dread.
 @edbba727 coming from a non-US person: how exactly does the FCC work? Are they reimplementing existing legislation with this, that just wasn't applied during Trump's admin?
Or are they, as part of the executive branch, defining these new rules?
 @edbba727 Net neutrality has been framed as a left versus right thing, and there's some history to that, but to me, this is just an issue of getting what you paid for. If it doesn't have net neutrality, it isn't internet service.
