 I make sure I remind my kids that their access to me and their mother all day is more valuable than any of the other status-seeking, compete with your friends, neighbors, & relatives fiat horseshit.

Also, reminding them that they are not locked-up in a government school for 8 hours a day helps too.

I find that the most committed to fiat gamesmanship are those adults getting allowances from mommy/daddy. 
 our girls attend Montessori. it seems to me that it's a way different outcome from the prussian public school model. 
 This can't be cheap. 

My experience with private schools, they all spout statism sooner or later. Obedience to the gubment.

Not so much when they are young. Especially with Waldorf/Montessori, but since they are regulated entities begging for permission to educate, know that you'll need to spend your time reeducating the kids at some point.  
 If i play things right, i quit my job to homeschool in 5yrs before re-education starts in Montessori.
