 when I eventually buy my own place I'm planning to wire up ethernet in every room for computers etc but no WiFi network to begin with. big no for me 😂 

 I can understand local conection, so it can be conected to home assistant, Information it's done can be good thing. But why it need fucking cloud?
I did not find any smart washing machine  without mandatory cloud!

 Yes. Still need to rip out the WiFi guts on some of mine. I basically want all my major kitchen appliances to be from the 1960s. 

 For clothes washing, buy Speed Queen or Huebsch (if available in your country). 

 Reminds me of a time I went to an open house for sale. Lady was selling her home after engineer husband passed. The entire kitchen was frozen in time from the 1950’s. Pristine condition. The agent and I marveled at the appliances. The dishwasher opened, closed, and “clicked” like heavy classic Cadillac doors.
