Dear #DogsOfMastodon , your collective wisdom please!

My wife will be having her hip replaced and trip hazards around our home are going to be a problem for a while.

Our dog is a big, BIG fan of lying in doorways and putting himself underfoot. Normally it’s not an issue but while my wife recovers it really, really could be.

Any tips for gently discouraging this behaviour? 

 @a98f4bdb my dog tries to kill himself under the wheels of my new wheelchair. Things that work: keeping treats in my hand to move him off to the side, driving the chair really really slowly. Things that don't work: begging, pleading, cajoling, any type of training (so far)
