I popped into my local Apple Store today. Turns out Apple no longer sells leather anything in their stores. No more leather cases for iPhone 14 and earlier, no more leather watch straps.
They still sell the remaining stock of MagSafe Battery Packs and Duo Folding Chargers, but they yanked the leather stuff from the shelves.
@ce72be9b One wonders whatever will happen to the products. It would be a shame to destroy them, but even re-packaged in a 3rd party box somehow, somebody will figure it out.
@ce72be9b That’s wild. The environment is already impacted by those having been made. What good does pulling them do besides generate more waste?
@ce72be9b Do you know if FineWoven cases will be made for the iPhone 14 series phones? The new cases for the 15s don’t fit the 14s, right?
@ce72be9b they should really make fine woven cases for the 14s!
@ce72be9b Appreciated your post about the MagSafe battery pack. It’s expensive but so good. I’m going to hold off on a second one, though, and hope for USB-C soon.
@ce72be9b they stopped restocking weeks ago, leather accessories have been sold out or in very limited quantities since July, easy to see why in hindsight
@ce72be9b as of two days ago, Target still sold the leather iPhone 14 cases in the Apple section of the store
@ce72be9b I’m sure no one is wondering about this, but same here in Brazil 😂
@ce72be9b We’re truly are in a crystal generation… poor cows.
