Week 21 since Achilles surgery after tearing it completely. I have come a long way 🙏. I still can't do a very good single leg calf raise or even jog with a good pace yet, but I aimed for 8k steps per day in July and so far so good. Hopefully in a couple more weeks I can start pushing it some with more fun activities..... Recovery is slow but at least weekly I am seeing some small progress 🙏

i second this question..
Playing pick up basketball 🏀
I just had an empathetic cringe. Glad recovery is going well so far. How'd you tear it?
Playing pickup basketball 🏀. Hopefully in a month or two I can start running and jumping again.
Hope so 🙏 Did they like replace it or just sew it back together?
I’ve never even considered tendons tearing and now I’m a little terrified of it happening lol
Its one of the worse sports injuries because it takes so long to heal. It used to be the kiss of death for professional athletes but more and more lately have been able to come back and still be their normal selfs. They sew it back together. It can't really be explained how it happens either. It is more common in explosive sports like basketball and football.
Last years Super Bowl this freak athlete tore his Achilles running onto the field

Well that doesn’t assuage the fear at all lol
Well heal fast man. I know you’ve gotta be ready to get back to 100%
Thanks yea its been a long 5 months probably another couple months before I'm there. Don't worry it is not a common injury and just a freak and low probability injury.
how did you tear it ?
Playing pickup basketball 🏀
that's why i don't play sports. it's a Russian roulette. also why i no longer Bike. i Olympic Lift and seriously believe it is safer than either Biking or Basketball. with OL at least when injuries happen they are my own fault ( or just me getting old ) whereas with Biking or Basketball any idiot can fuck me up and i can't take that chance.
