I agree with the sentiment, but the real reason to be "irresponsibly long" is because you cannot trust any other asset. Stocks? Read "The Great Taking" Real Estate? You own it at the pleasure of the state. And try not paying your property taxes, see if you "own" it or not. Bonds? No, seriously ... Gold? Yes, you can actually own this.
