i've suggested before it shoudl take into account follower numbers for supposed 'trending'. eg... A post with 50 likes from an account with 70k followers is not a trending note, these are just mostly read receipts / zaps, and account with 200 followers with 20 likes is possibly tho. (Just as one factor in a simple, but more helpful/ trending algo).

it should obviously ignore botcointwitter-style posts, people paying the 'bitcoin rent' posts and bitcointwitter personalities altogether (imo)
