Also get very high background usage from last few versions of Amethyst on P8P running GOS.  Think it was over 8h yesterday with 1:30 screen time.  Have disabled the app from being able to run in background now and that seem to help 

 I've disabled Amethysts background setting, we will see if that helps at all. Though I can't complain, my battery life is amazing. 

 On the default setting, Amethyst should run less than a minute on the background. But the phone can force it to stay open in those battery settings.

 I have a pixel 8 as well and mine doesn't do this. I am not really sure how to reproduce it 🤔

 I'll try reinstalling Amethyst and starting fresh.
