 Sailing mis-adventures.

We’d spent a couple of days anchored up in refuge cove while a front passed through. Winds funneled down the valleys from different directions spinning us around the anchor causing it to get tangled. We brought Heart of Gold close to shore and tied off to a tree while we untangled the chain. Meanwhile the tide went out and we found ourselves high and dry on the beach until it came back in.
No harm done and a couple lessons learnt ⛵️⚓️

Looks interesting, will check this out
Damn, cool to see you also sail. How’s that thing handle down there? I’m a New England/ North Atlantic experienced sailor, racing dinghies up to about 50’ Beneteaus offshore. Miss it, gotta stay away from sailing on the Black Sea… we’ve had a few sea mines that were cut loose from the Russia/ Ukraine thing wander into Romania’s waters, kind of a hazard 😂 I didn’t even think of a sailing community on here, so thanks for the enlightenment!
Yeah wow that’s a shame about the Black Sea! She’s a great little boat, really strong and solid, comfortable for two. The sailing motion can get a bit rough once a sea starts running, she can roll around quite a bit but I’ve sailed her 1200nm from NZ to Aus, and from Melbourne - Hobart - Sydney ⛵️
Damn, that’s pretty awesome. Hell of a journey. Getting over the horizon from land is pretty insane the first few times. We have an 1850s historic shipyard near where I grew up (mystic seaport CT), couldn’t imagine doing it with a sextant like back in those days.
Yeah I’ve been searching the hashtags trying to discover some surf/sailing/photography communities 🤙🏽
That’s great, hopefully these communities keep filling out a bit
