 Maybe, but they aren't laughing when they end up in my emergency department nearly dead from an infection or other illness they likely could have easily prevented with antibiotics or other meds. They're getting even more meds in the end and are usually a lot closer to death or disability than they would have been otherwise.

Everything has pros and cons. I'm sure there are many missed opportunities associated with rejecting tech absolutely too. 
 This is true, but their avoidance of the medical profession over the last few years certainly saved many of their lives. 
 It’s interesting how intertwined medicine and philosophy are.

Eastern medicine/ Amish: leave it alone, it will heal

Western: no it won’t, do surgery/ chemo/ drugs

Maybe it’s kind of a two steps forward, one back kind of process
