@45fa203e There are arguments to be made that prosecuting Assange would violate New York Times v US, the Pentagon Papers case. And that's a precedent worth protecting. But I have no sympathy for the man himself. He coordinated with Russian intelligence to manipulate a US election. The defense here is sentimental, not grounded in facts from the case itself or second order consequences.
@d08c0db8 @45fa203e This is the correct answer. Assange is a Putin operative that demonstratively damaged the US. Wrapping him in a "free press" flag is bullshit, let's just be plain. If Assange does nothing except rot in jail, there is no effect on the press. The guy he helped, #Trump, declared the press #enemiesofthepeople That is where the danger is.
@932d54c9 @45fa203e This person responded to me and then immediately blocked me to prevent a reply. In response, that's what the Republican led Senate Select Committee on Intelligence investigating Russian interference said in that report. It is also what the Mueller Report revealed. I have read the Mueller Report and sections of the Senate Select Committe report and know what's in them. READ OFFICIAL REPORTS. He is badly disinformed. https://files.mastodon.social/media_attachments/files/111/194/711/705/630/625/original/a7ca8d824fca98ef.jpg
