agree, if today I would choose a car to buy it would be a good used car from early 2000 without much electronic. A used car that can cost me ~5000€ (+ ~2000€ maybe to rapair it to perfection) would be safer, more performant, more repairable, and have no spyware inside than a new car for ~30000€. And the new car for ~30000€ is designed to not function in 20 years because reparabiloty is limited and the vendor would stop the (expensive) assistance earlier. The only real downside could be the fuel expenses, but depend on how much kilometers someone does every month.
