@bb543141 Yeah! I bounced around pretty much every DAW, until finally settling on Live. I don't even use it for the kind of loop / grid based composiiton, as that's not really my thing - but I find it let's me get making MUCH faster than the others.

Don't really like it for mixing, though.
@256f34ca i like Live up to a point of mixing. But for real finalizing I use ProTools. Live is a super useful tool for me using MIDI. There are lots of VSTs for me to work with for Live but are more expensive and imo, less accessibly useful on ProTools.
@bb543141 to my possible shame, ProTools is the only one i haven't got my hands on yet... I KNOW i should :)
I keep meaning to spend more time on the iOS thing that ableton make, but i always bounce off it. It's a bit too geared to looping for me.
@256f34ca no shame imo. It is esoteric to some, elitist to others. I am perhaps one but not the other. Lol

I used Audacity, Dreams (a video game engine slash community on Playstation), Ableton Live Standard, and ProTools.
@bb543141 dreams? That's interesting! I read that MM are stopping (or have stopped?) updating it now? I didn't realise it was a composition tool too. Hope that doesn't effect your work in it..
@256f34ca my move away from Dreams has been because of collaborators going AWOL and wanting to use my Wavestate, keyboard controller, or electric cello instead. Dreams is always there to use, but I was using it to learn, and to collaborate with my friend. I miss him lots, but have to try to replace him. :'(
