A massive botnet, comprising over 8,000 compromised devices, has been used in sophisticated password-spraying attacks targeting Microsoft Azure cloud service users. The botnet, named CovertNetwork-1658, is believed to be controlled by Chinese threat actors and has been operational for years. According to Microsoft, the attacks are "highly evasive" due to the botnet's ability to conceal its malicious activity.
