Finished Dune 2. My conclusion: overrated. Meh.
what you disliked??
Unrealistic plot. Shallow characters. Bad casting
yeah, mostly agree, but I enjoyed it a lot.
lol, unrealistic plot i read the book first, and i've read it again a couple of years ago and it's one of the most true versions in video yet... the tv mini series was pretty good too lol, unrealistic... in an imaginary universe where people have weapons that amplify the power of their voice and there is a drug in the shit of a giant worm living on a desert planet that lets you create a wormhole between two places and allows you to practically achieve immortality just sounds like someone who's been raised on Marvel to me
Couldn't suspend disbelief in strung out worm-poop narcotics abusers folding space with their mind as the basis for space travel or the interplanetary space witches/whores who can inflict both pain and delight using their worm-poop narcotics-enabled psychic powers having a secret breeding program to create the Antichrist? Yeah it's a bit far-fetched 👀
haha, amused to see you also respond so strongly to this silly assessment of a far out fantasy science fiction plot they should read the book if they loved how far out the story is in the maybe most accurate film version to date it isn't necessary to have taken mushrooms or DMT to get the story but it helps
Agreed. Highly overrated.
WHAT
While part 1 was the closest screen adaptation of the book, part 2 deviated quickly and then just went off script. Total shame - makes me have little hope that part 3 will be worth my time. I've read Dune every year for past few years, and love that each time I pick up on some new nuance or detail. So good.
